KisanKonnect Secures $4.5 Million in Series A Funding Led by Mistry Ventures

KisanKonnect, a leading direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand focused on delivering fresh, farm-to-table produce, has successfully raised $4.5 million in a Series A funding round. This investment round was spearheaded by Mistry Ventures, with significant participation from prominent investors including Times Group’s Brand Capital, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, VC-Grid, Vishwang Desai, and several notable family offices.

This latest funding round follows a successful pre-Series A round of $3.7 million led by Green Frontier Capital. KisanKonnect plans to strategically utilize the fresh capital to bolster its technological infrastructure, expand its operational reach, penetrate key urban markets, and leverage the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to optimize farm sourcing and streamline its supply chain.

Founded in 2020 by Vivek Nirmal and Nidhi Nirmal, KisanKonnect operates as a farmer producer company with a unique, vertically integrated farming system. The company sources fresh, hygienic fruits and vegetables directly from over 500 farms across various regions, ensuring fair prices for farmers while delivering high-quality produce to customers’ doorsteps.

Since its inception, KisanKonnect has been instrumental in revolutionizing traditional agricultural trade by establishing a robust, tech-enabled supply chain. The company has fostered a network of over 5,000 farmers, actively promoting sustainable farming practices and encouraging the adoption of regenerative agriculture methods.

KisanKonnect’s offerings extend beyond fresh produce to include premium dairy products. These dairy products are crafted from antibiotic-free and hormone-free milk, sourced directly from dairy farmers, further enhancing the company’s commitment to quality and ethical sourcing.

The company’s distribution channels include a user-friendly mobile app and a growing network of ‘KisanKonnect Farm Stores’ strategically located across Mumbai and Pune. KisanKonnect’s unwavering focus on quality, transparency, and customer satisfaction has enabled it to carve a distinct niche in the competitive fresh-commerce landscape.

Initially, KisanKonnect pioneered a 48-hour delivery model, setting a new standard in the industry. Currently, the company delivers fresh produce within a remarkably short timeframe of 4-6 hours across Mumbai and Pune. Recognizing the evolving demands of consumers, KisanKonnect has recently launched a pilot program for 30-minute deliveries, garnering significant appreciation from customers.
