US-based Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., has joined forces with MapMyIndia, a leading Indian provider of advanced digital maps and deeptech solutions. This strategic partnership aims to bolster India’s “Make in India” initiative within the automotive sector. By combining Qualcomm Technologies’ cutting-edge Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions with MapMyIndia’s deep expertise, the companies will deliver innovative automotive connectivity solutions and connected services for both four-wheelers (4Ws) and two-wheelers (2Ws) – catering to both domestic and global automakers.
Developing Telematics Solutions for the Indian Market
A key focus of this collaboration is the development of advanced telematics solutions. MapMyIndia will leverage the power of Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Auto Connectivity Platform to create tailored telematics solutions specifically designed to address the unique needs of Indian automakers. This will enable Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to offer high-quality yet affordable connectivity options even in mid-tier and low-tier vehicles, prioritizing safety and convenience for the mass market.
A Software-Defined Vehicle Framework
Furthermore, MapMyIndia will seamlessly integrate Snapdragon Car-to-Cloud Services with its own MAPPLS automotive services. This integration will establish a robust software-defined vehicle framework, driving device and cloud services for 2Ws, 4Ws, and commercial vehicles that utilize Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions. This unified platform and its common interface will streamline the management of devices, data, maps, navigation, and services.
By leveraging this integrated solution, MapMyIndia will be able to effectively scale, customize, and deliver the necessary applications and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). This will significantly enhance the end-to-end service experience for users, ensuring personalized and intuitive interactions tailored to their individual needs and preferences.
