The Indian SpaceTech sector has reached a significant milestone as TakeMe2Space secured ₹5.5 crore in a pre-seed funding round. Led by Seafund, the investment also saw participation from Blume Ventures, Artha Venture Fund, AC Ventures, and several angel investors. This funding will help TakeMe2Space advance its technology and grow its team, supporting its ambitious goal of transforming space access and exploration in India.

Funding Fuels India’s First AI Lab in Spacetech: MOI-1

TakeMe2Space plans to utilize the newly acquired funds to launch MOI-1, India’s inaugural AI laboratory in space. This groundbreaking initiative follows the startup’s successful completion of two space missions in collaboration with ISRO’s POEM platform, during which they demonstrated a novel radiation shielding coat. The development of MOI-1 signifies a leap forward in the application of artificial intelligence in space, enabling real-time data processing and analysis beyond Earth’s atmosphere.

Redefining Satellite Applications and Democratizing Spacetech Exploration

Founded in 2024 by Ronak Kumar Samantray, TakeMe2Space is revolutionizing satellite applications by addressing the critical challenge of data processing directly in space. The company’s mission extends beyond technological innovation; it aims to democratize space exploration by making space research opportunities more accessible. This is achieved through a focus on enhancing domestic capabilities in crucial areas like radiation shielding, advanced propulsion systems, and seamless inter-satellite communications. These developments collectively contribute to the empowerment and expansion of the space sector.

“TakeMe2Space is on a mission to democratise space for all,” states Ronak Kumar Samantray, Founder & CEO. “This funding is a testament to our team’s dedication and the impact we are creating in the space tech industry. With the support of our investors, we are excited to accelerate our growth and the first AI Lab to more customers globally.”

Strategic Growth and Global Expansion

With the launch of MOI-1, TakeMe2Space will prioritize ensuring a seamless experience for its 15+ early customers, enabling them to effectively run their orbital applications. In the short term, the company’s go-to-market strategy will focus on significantly increasing the adoption of its developed satellite subsystems in India, Australia, and Europe. This strategic expansion aims to establish TakeMe2Space as a key player in the global SpaceTech market.

The startup has rapidly grown to a team of over 17 members within the last 12 months, with a robust engineering staff that has successfully developed more than 15 satellite sensors and subsystems. This rapid growth underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and its ability to execute complex technological projects.

Government Support and Industry Growth

Manoj Kumar Agarwal, Managing Partner at Seafund, highlights the significant strides made by the Indian space industry. “The Indian space industry has witnessed remarkable technological accomplishments. With the Indian Government’s various initiatives and policy schemes to augment the capabilities in Space technology development will further boost the sector. TakeMe2Space has been working tirelessly with its upcoming MOI-1 launch which will be a game changer towards building data centres in space. The funding will help the company scale to the next stage and also expand its satellite subsystems on a global level,” he emphasizes.

Future Ambitions: Scaling Operations and Driving Innovation

TakeMe2Space plans to leverage the pre-seed funding to scale its operations, expand into new regions, broaden its product portfolio, strengthen its research and development efforts, and drive customer acquisition. The startup aims to double its revenues within the next 12 months, reflecting its ambitious growth trajectory.

According to INVEST INDIA, India’s SpaceTech sector is experiencing rapid expansion, driven by technological advancements and strong government support. This dynamic environment presents immense potential for growth and global collaboration, positioning TakeMe2Space at the forefront of the next wave of space innovation.
